jonathon's communion

Jonathon had his first communion this past weekend. His mom Libera and I chatted on the phone about the occasion for a while. She explained when she had her communion, her parents hosted a huge party and she remembered how much fun it was, so she wanted to do the same for her son.

Libera is Italian and her husband John is Croatian. Amongst many things, this combination stands for great food, great family and friends, and lots of dancing!

The Reskusic's insisted I sit at the head table with the rest of the family during dinner. It was such a sweet gesture, how could I not oblige? I witnessed firsthand the closeness the family shares and how at ease they were with each other.

Although this was a communion celebration for their son, you could tell by the beautiful room set up, gorgeous center pieces, and great music, it was a PARTY.

Libera and her mother made tons of Italian cakes and cookies for the occasion and they were delicious! All the kids were shameless while boogyin' down on the dance floor. Parents taught their kids dance moves, people reminisced about old times and laughs echoed all across the room.

Everyone was boogyin' down! The kids were having a BLAST!

Jonathon begged his mom to let HIM be the one to video... A boy after my own heart!
