it's thyme!

I had the opportunity of shooting a baby shower this weekend for the beautiful mommy-to-be, Melissa. Her friend Kelly hosted the party in her backyard, and it was a photographer's DELIGHT to say the least. In case you haven't noticed, I LOVE details. I'm not sure if it's the artist in me or the appreciation for another person's creative touch. I realize how much thought goes into even the slightest details, therefore I like to emphasize the feeling of the day by shooting the little tidbits that make the occasion so special.

Let me start by saying, Kelly's house is GORGEOUS. When I walked into the backyard, my first thought was how much I would love to sit on one her brightly colored adirondack chairs, sip on some iced tea, and get caught up in a good book. Her house was filled with vintage finds, from antique books, to beautiful glass jars. The garden screamed, "green thumb lives here!", and her entire kitchen ceiling was a massive skylight.

Delicious salads and sweets were devoured, iced tea and champagne cocktail were sipped. The weather was a perfect 75 with the slightest of breeze in the air. Melissa seemed so at ease and relaxed amongst her closest friends and family. It was a really special afternoon and I was honored to share a part in her day.

Melissa's son Stevie was adorable. He had gone to a pirate-themed party before the shower and wanted to keep his costume on. His smile melted my heart.

Kelly gave all the guest this freshly potted thyme to take home, hence my blog
title,"It's thyme!".
