about me

I'm not a big fan of the word typical. That goes for the same "ABOUT ME" section in every photographer's bio page. You've read it a hundred times. "I've loved photography since I can remember..." ".... I want to capture your special day in a photojournalistic sense...."

You probably already know that. Why else would we be in this business?
Do I love my job? YES. Do I work hard? AB.SO.LUTELY.
But I believe if you truly love your job, it really doesn't feel like work.

I chose this career path frankly because the artist in me just wouldn't keep quiet. Even when photography was just a hobby, every time I saw a "picture perfect" moment I went with it. I'd excuse myself mid-conversation to shoot the great candid of the old couple waltzing across the dance floor. Other times I'd swerve to the other side of the road before I missed "the most beautiful lighting behind that swaying tree".

One thing I can say is I don't mind getting dirty and I'm certainly not afraid to take risks. Call me corny, (and hypocritically typical), but capturing memories is my passion. It's my true love- my very own knight in shining armor. It's what I'm excited about when I get up in the morning. I truly believe it's my calling. After seeing my work, I hope you feel the same way.

Nothing pleases me more than seeing the expressions on my client's faces when they get excited about the work I've done for them. I'd love for you to give me the chance to do the same for you.

Thanks for stopping by!
Warmly, Katy
